ORLAND PARK, IL — Orland Park Police continue to rally around a former community service officer and current Illinois State trooper who was injured when his squad car was struck as he was responding to a call.

After a No-Shave November, police officials said last month that the no-shave efforts will run through December, with funds raised going to Orland Park police officer Brian Frank. Frank, who is now a trooper for the Illinois State Police, was seriously injured when his squad car was struck from behind while he was on a traffic stop in Joliet in February 2021. Since the crash, a GoFundMe effort has raised more than $128,000 with more than 1,700 donations. All of the funds will be contributed to Frank and his wife, Lauren.

The department is now inviting the public to sign a card for Frank, available at the police department, 15100 Ravinia Ave.
