Orland Township Announces Appeal-A-Thon for Property Taxes
Orland Township Urges Homeowners to File Appeals Following Cook County Assessor's Office Errors

ORLAND PARK, IL — The Cook County Assessor's Office has miscalculated and misidentified a staggering number of properties, significantly impacting homeowners within Orland Township and throughout Cook County.
A recent study released by Cook County Treasurer Maria Pappas' office revealed that homeowners in Cook County's south and southwest suburbs faced a notable 20% increase in their property tax bills this year.
Orland Township Supervisor Paul O'Grady is calling upon all property owners in Orland Township to take action by filing an appeal. The Orland Township Administrative Office is facilitating residents with a chance to file their property tax appeals for free through the online Property Tax Appeal Request Form, accessible daily at www.orland.propertytaxfox.com. Those who have already appealed during this period do not need to appeal again.

"Last year, the Cook County Assessor's Office missed new construction and major improvements to at least 620 properties, resulting in at least $444 million in market value that is not being taxed this year in Cook County," as stated in an article from ABC7 Chicago from August.Despite documented evidence of renovations or development on these properties, these errors occurred, resulting in some homeowners being unfairly affected.
"We urge all homeowners within Orland Township to take advantage of this opportunity and ensure that their properties are accurately assessed for tax purposes," said Supervisor O'Grady. "Your cooperation will help rectify the devasting impact of the errors from the Cook County Assessor's Office and ensure fair taxation for all homeowners in our community."
