Orland Township to Hold Drive-Thru Flu Clinic

Free coffee and donut with every shot

Residents who have not yet received their seasonal flu shot can stop by Orland Township, get their shot, a cup of coffee and a donut from Frosted in Tinley Park and be on their way without even getting out of their car, according to the office of Township Supervisor Paul O’Grady.

The Township’s popular and convenient Drive-Thru Flu Shot Clinic will be held on Saturday, October 26, from 9 a.m. to noon on the Township grounds, 14807 S. Ravinia Ave., Orland Park.

Fluzone High-Dose – For adults 65 years of age and older. The Township will bill Medicare for those Individuals with Traditional Medicare Part B (must show card). Individuals with a Medicare Advantage Plan or a Retiree Plan may be able to submit the vaccine receipt to their insurance company for reimbursement, depending on their individual plan. Fluzone High Dose is $55.

Flublok Quadrivalent – For adults 18 years of age and older. Flubok is 100 percent egg-free, highly purified, preservative free and contains three times more antigens than the traditional flu vaccine. Flubok Quadrivalent is $40.

Fluarix Quadrivalent – For individuals 3 years of age and older. Fluarix protects against four different flu viruses and is preservative free. Fluarix Quadrivalent is $40.

Only cash or credit card payments will be accepted. Please note: Medicaid Title 19 card holders (18 years of age and younger) can only receive a flu vaccine at the Township’s monthly Immunization Clinic; the next one is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 23 from 9 to 11:30 a.m.

Flu shots will be given at the Drive-Thru Flu Shot Clinic on a first come, first served basis, while supplies last. Those receiving a shot are asked to wear a short sleeve shirt.

“I urge everyone who still needs their flu shot to take advantage of our convenient drive-thru clinic,” said Supervisor O’Grady. “While running your weekend errands, swing by the Township, get your flu shot and a donut and coffee – you don’t even need to get out of your car.”
