Orland Township Property Tax Appeal Period Now Open; Appeal Forum Scheduled For January 27

The property tax appeal period is open now through Feb. 3.

ORLAND TOWNSHIP, IL — The property tax appeal period for Orland Township is now open with the Cook County Board of Review, Orland Township Assessor Antonio Rubino has announced. The appeal period will remain open through Feb. 3.

A property tax appeal forum is also set for Jan. 27, Rubino's office said.

The property tax appeal process allows homeowners to request a review of their property’s assessed value to ensure it accurately reflects current market conditions. Residents who believe the estimated market value of their property exceeds what it could reasonably sell for in today’s real estate market are encouraged to consider filing an appeal.

“Ensuring fair and accurate property assessments is a top priority,” said Assessor Rubino. “My office is committed to assisting residents throughout the appeal process and making sure taxpayers understand their rights and options.”

For the first time at Orland Township, the Assessor’s Office has implemented an online appeal submission form, allowing residents to begin the appeal process electronically:

To further assist residents, Assessor Rubino invites taxpayers to attend a Property Tax Appeal Forum presented by Cook County Board of Review Commissioner Larry Rogers Jr. The forum will focus on appeals for the 2025 tax year and will help residents better understand the appeal process and how to properly file an appeal.

The forum will take place on Tuesday, Jan. 27, at 6:00 p.m. at Orland Township, located at 14807 S. Ravinia Avenue, Orland Park. No registration is required.

“I believe the Cook County property tax system must be fair and equitable for all taxpayers,” Rubino said. “This forum gives residents a valuable opportunity to hear directly from the Cook County Board of Review, better understand their rights in the appeal process, and ensure they have clear, accurate information and the resources needed to navigate with confidence.”

Following the presentation, Assessor Rubino and his staff will be available to answer questions and provide additional guidance.
