Orland Township’s Medical Supply Drive for Ukraine Collects Thousands
Over $6,000 worth of medical supplies and monetary donations received.

ORLAND PARK, IL — On Saturday, April 30, Orland Township and Saints Peter and Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Church held their first Medical Supply Drive for Ukraine. The event aimed to provide critically needed medical supplies to the millions of local civilians involved in the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
The war has caused far-reaching humanitarian consequences for Ukrainians, like lost livelihoods and reduced access to basic needs, including that of emergency medical attention due to attacks on healthcare facilities and warehouses near conflict zones. The conflict grows worse day by day, only fueling support from allies around the world.
Orland Township's Medical Supply Drive with Saints Peter and Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Church will provide dozens of boxes of medical supplies and basic necessities on the ground, saving lives and protecting vulnerable people. The additional $4,000 raised on Saturday will be used to purchase even more equipment before the donations are transported to Ukraine.

“The people of Orland Township are extraordinary for doing whatever we can possible to support those in need, no matter the distance.” Said Supervisor Paul O’Grady. “It is inhumane to just stand by and watch a very-much overwhelmed Ukraine be obliterated by exterior force as it has been for the past few months. We will continue to work with and support Saints Peter and Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Church to provide necessary aid as needed.”
Those still looking to provide donations are welcome to drop off supplies at the Orland Township Food Pantry, located at 14807 S. Ravinia Avenue, Orland Park. Additionally, community-members can contribute from home by digitally providing monetary donations through Venmo, just by searching for the pantry’s account under the username of @OrlandTownship-FoodPantry. Donations may be directly dropped off at Saints Peter and Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Church, located at 8410 W. 131st Street in Palos Park, as well.
