Palos Heights “Doughs Guys Bakery” Sweetens the Day for Treasure Chest Foundation Volunteers

Doughs Guys Bakery in Palos Heights is collaborating with the Pediatric Oncology Treasure Chest Foundation (POTCF). Owners Sean and Sharon O’Neill donated 50 delicious cupcakes to feed numerous volunteers at the first ever appreciation luncheon held by the POTCF Board of Directors. These top-quality cupcakes included Tori’s Turtle Treats, Rachel’s Red Velvet, Sharon’s Strawberry Sensation, Olivia’s Outrageous Oreo and Christine’s Carrot Patch, a super moist carrot cupcake (made with raisins and pineapple, no nuts) filled with a rich and smooth cream cheese and then lathered with even more of that decadent cream cheese on top which is then garnished with a buttercream carrot.
Doughs Guys Bakery has over 100 years of baking experience and cake decorators who have been laying down frosting since their “Easy Bake” oven days. “Doughs Guys Bakery” is proud to fire up their ovens every day to bring you the absolute freshest baked goods in the Chicago area.
Ms. Colleen Kisel, Founder and CEO of the Treasure Chest Foundation, expressed her gratitude for the generous support shown by Doughs Guys Bakery. “The Treasure Chest Foundation is especially thankful for the Doughs Guys Bakery wonderful contribution of exquisite cupcakes. We are so blessed to have their support.”

The not-for-profit Treasure Chest Foundation now supports more than 9,300 children and teens each month who are diagnosed with cancer by providing a toy or gift card in 49 hospitals nationwide. Nowhere else in the nation does such a program exist. CEO Colleen Kisel founded the organization in 1996 after her then seven-year-old son Martin had been diagnosed with leukemia in 1993. Colleen discovered that giving her son a toy after each procedure provided a calming distraction from his pain. Martin celebrated his 23rd anniversary of remission from the disease earlier this year.
