Panera Pick Pocket Thief Nabbed: Cops
A Chicago woman is accused of stealing wallets from customers at two Panera Bread locations in Orland Park.

ORLAND PARK, IL - Orland Park police arrested a woman they said stole wallets from customers at two different Panera Bread locations in the village over the last two months.
Star Davis, 47, of Chicago has been involved in "a litany of pick pocket thefts" from customers at the Panera locations, one at 15845 Harlem Ave. and the other at 15252 S. Lagrange Road.
Police said that on Feb. 13 Davis stole a wallet from a customer at the Harlem Avenue location and involved "several co-conspirators" in using the victim's credit cards at a Kohl's in Orland Park, a Target in Tinley Park and a Walmart in Orland Hills.

Davis is also accused of stealing a wallet from a customer at the Lagrange Road location on March 29 and using the co-conspirators to use the victim's credit cards at the Apple store in Orland Square Mall and the Target in Tinley Park.
The next day, Davis was arrested at her home in Chicago's West Englewood neighborhood. Police said she is "well known in the law enforcement community" for her involvement in pick pocket thefts and was on home monitoring at the time of her arrest. She was charged with continuing a criminal financial enterprise and identity theft.

A search of her residence recovered a wallet and credit cards taken in a theft at Panera the day prior, police said.
Davis is not the only pick pocket crew leader in the area, police warned. She is suspected in several other instances but has been ruled out in other cases.
