Paul Chenj Named Orland Township 'Volunteer of the Year'
Orland Township volunteers honored at awards dinner.

ORLAND TOWNSHIP, IL -- The contributions of more than 120 volunteers were recognized for their contributions to Orland Township programs during an awards dinner held April 18 at Gatto’s restaurant in Orland Park. Department directors named volunteers of the year for each of their departments, a daunting task given the number of volunteers who regularly give their time to help out.
Recognized as the Orland Township Volunteer of the Year is Paul Chenj, who lends his talents as a set designer to all the major township events, such as The Dating Game and Senior American Idol. From backdrops to lighting, Chenj sets the stage to give each event the proper mood and ambiance.
Andrew High School junior Brianna Cozzolino, of Tinley Park, was named youth services volunteer of the year. Other volunteers individually recognized for their contributions were:

“Our volunteers are the heart and soul of the township,” Supervisor Paul O’Grady said in a news release. “They selflessly give their time and talent and we look forward to this annual event to formally thank them and recognize their efforts.”
