A Pink Horse Raises Funds at P.F. Chang's

Take a selfie by the pink horse at the Orland Park P.F. Chang's in Orland Park, post it #PaintPFChangsPink on social media and raise $1

There’s a new steed in town and he’s not afraid to be caught in pink.

On Tuesday, employees and friends of PF Chang’s in Orland Park donned breast cancer support shirts, rolled up their sleeves and turned a perfectly good warhorse into a sissy.

“ Over 200 PF Chang’s restaurants across the country are gathering their communities together to rally for a deserving cause”, said Joe Caruso, the operating partner for the PF Chang’s in Orland Park. “ Pink is the national color of that cause. To show our support we are painting our Warrior Horses across the country, pink” Caruso added.

Over fifteen staff members and fans of the restaurant stopped by to paint the horse, drink pink lemonade and try the pink sushi rolls.

“ I lost my sister to breast cancer in 1977”, said Maureen Wentz, representing the Village of Orland Park.

Wearing pink lipstick and a pink bow, the longtime Orland Park resident was excited to be part of the changing of the horse. “ I couldn’t do anything when I lost my sister, added Wentz, but I can do something today, like painting this horse pink.”

There are two ways to support breast cancer awareness at PF Chang’s. Stop in between now and Oct. 31rst and order a sushi roll. For every sushi roll ordered, PF Chang’s will donate a dollar to the National Breast Cancer Foundation. Then you can also take a selfie in front of the pink horse and post it on social media with hash tag #PaintPFChangsPink . For every post PF Chang’s will again donate a dollar to the National Breast Cancer Foundation.

“ We all have someone in our lives that this disease has touched,” said Caruso. “ I hope we can raise our goal of 100,000 and help make a difference.”

PF Changs is located at 14135 S. LaGrange Road in Orland Park. Call 708-675- 3970 for additional information.

The horse stands proud, he stands for breast cancer support and so do the rest of the employees who work at PF Changs and the friends who stop by.
