PrairieArt Studio Offers Summer Camps, Workshops and Classes for All Ages
Weekly classes feature a different theme and art medium.
PrairieArt Studio in Orland Park is offering themed 1, 2 and 3-day camps as well as weekly classes this Summer for students 4yrs old to Adult. The camps allow students to try various different media and feature drawing, design, printmaking, cartooning or mosaics.
“Summer is a time to unplug and relax but also a great time to be inspired, discover, explore and recharge,” said owner/instructor Michelle Stanley. “You can experience all of that here at PrairieArt.”
Drawing camps will focus on a theme such as Rainforest Animals, Manga Cartooning, African Safari and the Farm. Weekly classes will feature a different theme and media such as marker, oil pastel, graphite pencil, watercolor, chalk pastel and colored pencil each week. Students can sign up monthly for June and/or July or individually. The Printmaking and Mosaic camps will provide students with unique pieces that they can display, use or wear.

Also this summer, PrairieArt Studio will offer the first in its series of Visiting Artists Workshops. Local artist and Artist’s Way Facilitator, Robin Neumann will teach a Mandala Workshop.
“These circular designs have been around for thousands of years and have been used in many different cultures as a form of meditation,” said Neumann. “They are wonderful for helping you to focus and calm your mind and they are fun to make as well!”
