A 32-year-old Orland Park man is charged with attempted robbery after he tried to grab a woman's purse in the parking lot of Aldi in Orland Park.
Police say Keith M. Siedlinski, of 14053 S. 85th Ave., approached the 62-year-old woman as she was taking items from her vehicle trunk in the store parking lot on Tuesday. He then fled northbound through the parking lot, into a wooded area across 131st Street. Citizens in the parking lot tended to the woman after police were called.
Responding Orland Park Police Units set up a perimeter in the area with assistance from Palos Park Police and the Cook County Sheriff’s Police Department. An alert Cook County Sheriff’s Police Officer spotted Siedlinski hiding behind some trees in the area northeast of the Walgreens store. After a brief foot chase the officer was able to apprehend Siedlinski and take him into custody at approximately 4:53 p.m. The witness identified Siedlinski as the suspect, and he was transported to Orland Park Police Department.
