Sandburg AP Psych Fair gives students research experience
Cross curricular connections and hands on experience

The Curriculum Spotlight at the District 230 School Board meeting highlighted the AP Psychology Fair at Sandburg High School. As a capstone performance activity, Sandburg AP Psychology students take on the role of psychologist and conduct authentic research based on student developed questions. Student topics range across a number of areas within the discipline, with many of the experiments focused on sensation, perception, social behaviors, and learning
Sandburg Teachers Joe Geiger and Desi Vuillaume, along with some of their students, overviewed that experience and engaged Board Member Susan Dalton in an interactive sampling of the activities. The extended research and planning culminates with a Psychology Fair family evening and daytime fair, where students and the community also have the opportunity to participate in the student's research areas of focus.
