
Sandburg cheerleading put in a strong showing on the first day of the 2015 IHSA Large Division Cheerleading State competition, posting the third-place score of all 25 teams in their division. The squad will advance to the event’s final round on Saturday, February 7, at U.S. Cellular Coliseum in Bloomington, Ill.
Sandburg’s preliminary-round score of 89.93 put them just 2.57 points behind first-place Lincoln-Way East High School, and less than two points behind second-place Lockport. Lincoln-Way North sits in fourth, with an 89.80.
The finals for the Large Division will take place Saturday, and Sandburg is scheduled to perform at 3:50 p.m.

Tickets for the IHSA State Finals will be available at the door, and are $10 for both children and adults (children in hand are free).
