Sandburg HS Debate brings home hardware

Excels at Fenwick Friars Tournament

The Sandburg High School Eagle Debate Team participated in the Fenwick Friars Tournament this weekend and brought home some hardware.

In Lincoln Douglas debate there are two separate resolutions. JV/Varsity is using RESOLVED: Civil disobedience in a democracy is morally justified and RESOLVED: Countries ought to prohibit the production of nuclear power.

In Varsity Lincoln Douglas Debate, Viktor Milosovljevic was the 8th place debater and the 2nd place speaker, while in JV competition, Natalia Rychtarczyk was the 1st place debater and 1st place speaker.

In novice competition, Neha Stephen won 4th place and was the 9th place speaker, and Samayah Moon was 6th place and 4th place speaker.

The Public Forum resolution is RESOLVED: In United States public K-12 schools, the probable cause standard ought to apply to searches of students.

Novices Maya Kovacevic and Alexis Aurelio came in 7th place and Bibi Velazquez and Ameena Mozaffar took 8th place.
