Sandburg HS freshmen and transfer students

Students get into school spirit

Sandburg High School freshman and transfer students started their first day as an Eagle on Thursday, August 13. The day started out with an assembly in the Eagle Gym with the Marching and Pep Bands playing and the Cheerleaders and Eaglettes doing sideline routines. After the assembly, students broke off into groups and attended six informational sessions.

Skyward Student Access, setting passwords, Gmail, and completed a Google survey asking about grit and connectedness.

Co-Curricular Fair - All teams and co-curriculars were represented to give information on their club/sport.
The Deans’ Office highlighted the Student Handbook, including rules and expectations, and Service Learning requirements.

Guidance Counselors talked about their role, the school day, reading schedules, procedure for schedule changes, how to contact teachers and quick tips to be successful.

First Class Leaders conducted ice breaking games and discussed athletic and co-curricular activities, school spirit, starting strong, staying organized and general tips for success.

Spirit Training took place in the Eagle Gym where students learned the school fight song.

Students also attended a shortened schedule of their whole day and then ended their day with a closing assembly that included some fun activities and ended with singing “Stand Up for Sandburg.”
