Sandburg HS to host Career and Technical Education seminars
Open to all members of the community November 16 from 6 - 7:30 pm

Sandburg High School will host free seminars and workshops showcasing Career and Technical Education on Thursday, November 16 from 6 until 7:30 p.m. at the school. This event is open to all community members.
A variety of seminars hosted by teachers will include:
- Healthy Dinner Cooking Demonstration (and FREE Food!) - Culinary Arts
- Color Analysis and Personal Styling - Fashion & Interior Design
- Preschool craft time in the preschool (fun for ALL ages!)- Early Childhood Education
- Photo Restoration - Graphic Arts
- 3D Printing - Engineering & CAD
- Dual Credit Opportunities - Business Department
- CNC (Computer Numeric Control) Machines - Engineering & Woods
- And More!
Sandburg hosts three departments under the Career and Technical Education (CTE) umbrella: Family and Consumer Sciences, Applied Technology, and Business. CTE classes give high school students the chance to get a head start on preparing for college and careers.

A few hands-on CTE classes offered at Sandburg are Culinary Arts, Child Development and Preschool Teaching, CAD, Auto, Accounting, Woodworking and Fashion & Interior Design. These classes give students real-world experiences, nationally recognized certifications and dual credit at Moraine Valley.
