Sandburg HS SkillsUSA State Champions

Real-world, hands on problem solving tasks based on industry standards and certifications

SkillsUSA students competed in the 53rd annual Leadership and Skills Conference in Springfield this past weekend. Sandburg students competed in the following eleven areas: Additive Manufacturing (3D Printing), Adobe Photoshop Design, Architectural CAD, Cabinetmaking, Early Childhood Education, Electronics Technology, Fashion Design, Information Technology Service, Interior Room Design, Preschool Interactive Bulletin Board, and Technical CAD.


Students had previously qualified for the State Competition by taking a qualifying exam. In Springfield, students competed in their areas by completing real-world, hands on problem solving tasks based on industry standards and certifications. Sandburg students had a tremendous showing taking home three gold medals, two silver medals, three bronze medals and four other top 5 finishes!
