Sandburg MedClub place among top at State competition

Sophomore qualifies for International conference

Carl Sandburg High School MedClub took their competitive team to the IHSA State Competition for Illinois HOSA and placed in four categories. MedClub provides opportunities to hear from professionals in the medical field as well as to compete in the HOSA state competition.

HOSA is a global student-led organization recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and the Department of Health and Human Services and several federal and state agencies. HOSA’s mission is to empower HOSA-Future Health Professionals to become leaders in the health community, through education, collaboration, and experience.

Sandburg Eagles competed at the state level in the following events: EMT, CPR, Dental Terminology, and Dental Science.

Sophomore Aashvi Kothadia placed in the top three for Dental Terminology in the state of Illinois and has been selected as an Illinois Representative to compete at the international HOSA Competition, which is scheduled for June in Dallas, TX.
