Carl Sandburg Model United Nations rounded out the first semester with a Best Large Delegation award at Walter Payton College Prep’s MUNAP XIX Conference, the school’s 19th annual Model UN conference. The team earned a total of 14 awards, with six delegates awarded Best Delegates.
Sandburg’s 52 delegates edged out St. Ignatius. All teams spoke on global issues and created on-policy solutions with delegates from across the Chicagoland area.
CSMUN delegates were able to participate in a variety of committees, including the National Governors Association, the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea, and the Hunger Games. Anywhere from 3-9 Sandburg Eagles were in each of the nine committees and the conference provided executive and club members alike with another chance to compete prior to some highly competitive conferences in the second semester.
