Sandburg Scholastic Bowl Shines At Recent Tourney

Three Eagles earn top-ten individual honors

The Carl Sandburg High School Scholastic Bowl teams performed brilliantly at the recent Hinsdale Varsity Academic Competition. Sandburg brought two teams, one of which competed in the Highly Competitive Division and one in the Competitive Division.

The Highly Competitive Team placed 3rd overall, with the team comprised of senior Brandon Torres and juniors Ayaan Ghori, Nick Diaz, Chloe McLaughlin, and Jamie Keenan. Individually, the team had two top-ten finishers, Ayaan placed 5th overall, and Brandon placed 10th overall.

The competitive team included senior Jocelyn Chan, junior Leena Ahmad, and sophomores Yazhi Paguntalan, Rhianna Santiago, and Jack Engle, with Yahzi making the top 10 individual players during the Playoffs of her division.
