Sandburg senior collects 1,541 pounds of food for Food Pantry

Surpasses 800 pound goal with help of community

Kyle Wiczek of Troop 318 of Orland Park delivered 1,541 lbs. of food to Orland Township Food Pantry. He created a Food Drive with an 800 lb. goal to assist in stocking the Food Pantry for local families in need for his Eagle Project to benefit the community.

Wiczek utilized networking via the internet, distributing flyers in town, and scout meeting announcements for a call to action to assist our citizens in need. He and his volunteers collected, sorted, reviewed for dates, boxed and shipped the food to the Orland Township Food Pantry.

Wiczek was recognized by the Orland Township Board of Trustees.
