ORLAND PARK, IL — Schussler Park, just west of 88th Avenue and south of 143rd Street in Orland Park, will be revamped in 2021, Orland Park Mayor Keith Pekau said during a village of Orland Park board meeting this week. He said the park is one of two in the village, Centennial Park being the other, that currently have request for proposals out for redevelopment.

"The board has committed to redoing Schussler Park in one season in 2021," Pekau told a resident of the village's Maycliff subdivision who asked about the park's future and whether any input from residents of the surrounding community would be considered.

"I'm excited to see some plans for Schussler Park, but one thing that concerns me is that I haven't heard if there is going to be a survey among our neighborhood," the resident said.

Pekau said residents will be engaged once the RFP process is over and a Master Plan has been developed. He did not have a specific timetable for when that might be, however.
