Person Shot In Orland Hills: Police

Police warned of road closures on Sunday morning due to the investigation.

ORLAND HILLS, IL — Detectives were investigating a shooting Sunday morning in Orland Hills, according to police.

Tinley Park officers assisted Orland Hills police around 2:30 a.m. with the shots-fired report involving a person shot in the area of 167th Street and 88th Avenue, according to Tinley Park officials.

Detectives had been at the scene since 3 a.m. in the 16700 block of 88th Avenue, police said.

"This is an isolated incident, the public is not at risk," the Orland Hills Police Department said in a social media post.

The intersection of 167th Place and 88th Avenue was expected to be closed for an extended period, Orland Park police warned as of about 6 a.m., asking people to seek alternative routes.
