Drone Light Show Added To Taste Of Orland Park: Village

The event runs August 2–4, this time hosted at newly opened Centennial Park West.

ORLAND PARK, IL — A quintessential Orland Park event returns this summer for its 21st year, packed with live music, food and drink, and fun.

The Village of Orland Park's annual Taste of Orland Park presented by Northwestern Medicine arrives at the new Centennial Park West August 2–4.

The Taste of Orland Park showcases Orland Park eateries, community organizations and several bands throughout the weekend. Special events within the fest include three days of kid’s activities, sponsor giveaways, annual veterans tribute and live entertainment on the new Centennial Park West stage.

"The Taste of Orland Park is the event of the summer in Orland Park, people look forward to the Taste every year," said Mayor Keith Pekau. "This year, the Taste will be at our new Centennial Park West, with a new permanent stage, and plenty of space for our groups and restaurants.

"This year’s Taste will be a great way to sample dishes from some the best restaurants in Orland Park, hear great music and participate in family-friendly activities."

The Taste will be held at the brand-new Centennial Park West located at 15609 Park Station Blvd. on Friday, August 2 from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m.; Saturday, August 3 from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. and Sunday, August 4 from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. Admission and activities at the fest are all free. Participating restaurants will offer their signature dishes, beverages and desserts at individual food booths located throughout the complex.

"While most of the participating restaurants are long-time, local favorites, some are relatively new to the event," Pekau said. "It’s great to see the large variety of local offerings from local franchises as well as many independently owned restaurants."

Kids activities will now be offered all three days of event, from 5 to 7 p.m. Aug. 2 and 3 to 7 p.m. on Aug. 3 and 4. Each day will be full of free activities like inflatables, face painting, and balloon makers for kids to enjoy in the great outdoors. Local community groups and clubs will also be on hand sharing organization information and activities for kids to try.

Country artist David Nail will headline an exciting Friday night from 9:30 to 11 p.m., and also features local performers including the Goo Roos, Carl Sandburg Marching Eagles, and Fletcher Rockwell. Saturday’s entertainment will include Doonaree Pipe Band, Four C Notes, 7th Heaven and alternative rock headliner Sister Hazel.

Saturday will also include our annual veterans’ tribute beginning at 6:30pm. On Sunday, the entertainment continues with Jonny Lyons & the Pride, The Lounge Puppets and then America’s favorite yacht rock band The Docksiders closes out the event from 7:30 - 9 p.m.

New this year also is a drone light show, set to follow The Docksiders performance.

$10 parking will be available at Centennial Park West, (15609 Park Station Blvd.). Cash or card are accepted (no re-entry). Free ADA parking will also be available at this location. Free event parking is located on the east of train tracks at Metra Orland Park 153rd Street Station (10499 W. 153rd St.) and Centennial Park.

Please note: Guests may bring one sealed water bottle per person. No other outside food or drink will be allowed into the event. (baby formula/juice boxes are allowed, as have been in the past) Bags will be inspected at entrance locations. Attendees are asked to bring their own lawn chairs or blankets to enjoy the event and reminded that no tents, umbrellas (except single user, handheld rain umbrellas) or tables are allowed to be brought in.
