Tune into Summer Reading Challenge at Orland Park Public Library!

Read to the Rhythm with the Orland Park Public Library’s Summer Reading Challenge from June 7 to August 8. Kids, birth through 6th grade, teens, and adults with an Orland Park Public Library card can participate in this musically-themed, two-month event with great programs, entertainment and the chance to win some awesome prizes. It’s free, easy and a great way to support the library. Stop by and visit the Youth Services or Adult Services desks to register.

The challenge starts on Sunday, June 7 from 1 to 4 p.m. with a Summer Reading Kick-off Celebration. Visit the library to sign up and enjoy live music outdoors, karaoke, crafts, free frozen yogurt courtesy of TCBY, as well as demonstrations of the latest tech gadgets and new library services.

After meeting their summer reading goals, kids, teens and adults will receive a specially designed t-shirt donated by the Friends of the Orland Park Public Library. For each book or material checked out above and beyond their reading goals, participants will receive a drawing ticket for a huge selection of great prizes.

Many prizes were generously donated from businesses in the Orland Park area including a wine package from Cooper’s Hawk Winery, free family bowling party at Orland Bowl, Dave & Buster’s gift cards and baskets, Brass Tap gift certificate, Miroballi Shoes, Original Pancake House gift cards, Target gift card, Whole Foods gift card and Granite City gift cards.

Registration for the Summer Reading Challenge continues until August 8, the last day to turn in reading logs. Prize winners will be drawn on August 10.
