ORLAND PARK, IL — The Orland Park Turkey Trot will return for its 31st year this Thanksgiving. The 2.5 mile chip-timed race will take runners and walkers through paved roads, paths and wooded areas in Orland Park, the village said in a news release this week.

The race will begin at the Franklin Loebe Recreation Center the morning of Thursday, Nov. 23.

“Many people, young and old alike, look forward to the Turkey Trot every year,” Orland Park Mayor Keith Pekau said. “It is great to see children, teens and adults spending time together participating as a family.”

The race usually sells out early, Pekau said, so runners and walkers should register as soon as possible. Ravinia Ave. Pre-registration is required and limited to 900 participants.

All race participants will get a long-sleeved dri-fit race shirt, refreshments and are entered into a post-race raffle for prizes.
