Two Arrests, Nearly 100 Citations Issued In Orland PD's St. Patrick's Day Traffic Safety Push
Orland Park police released the results of ramped up St. Patrick's Day traffic safety campaign this week.
ORLAND PARK, IL — The Orland Park Police Department announced this week that officers made two arrests and issued 39 seat belt citations during the St. Patrick’s Day enforcement period.
In the campaign that ran March 13 through 6 a.m. on March 23, police issued 59 other traffic citations, the department said.
"We strongly enforce traffic laws for one reason—to save lives," said Orland Park Chief of Police, Eric Rossi. "Whether it’s alcohol, cannabis or another drug, impaired driving puts everyone at risk."

The Orland Park Police Department joined forces with state and local law enforcement and highway safety partners in the St. Patrick’s Day “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” and “Drive High. Get a DUI” enforcement campaign.
The safety effort was funded by federal highway safety funds administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation.
