'Uncork and Support' Ladies Night Supports Accessible Ball Field

'Uncork and Support' ladies night out offers an evening of wine, food and pampering Feb. 1 to raise money OPBaseball4All Foundation.

ORLAND PARK, IL -- Marist sophomore Zachary Stack is on a mission. The goal, to build a baseball field that is accessible to all. A ladies’ night out fundraising event is planned for Feb. 1 from 4 to 8 pm at the Orland Park Civic Center to raise awareness and financial support for Stack’s OPBaseball4All Foundation.

The highly anticipated event will feature wine from Cooper’s Hawk, hors d’oeuvres from Gatto’s and Papa Joe’s, a raffle for a weekend at the beautiful Lamberson Guest House in Galena, massages and mini manicures, psychic and tarot card readings, clothing, essential oils, clothing, jewelry and much, much more.

The journey began when Zachary learned of a similar baseball field for individuals with special needs in a nearby town. The avid baseball player asked his mother, Tammy Stack, to reach out to Village Trustee Pat Gira to see if Orland Park offered a similar field. When they learned that there was no field to accommodate individuals with physical and developmental disabilities, OPBaseball4All was born.

“I know how much I enjoy and appreciate what playing baseball brings to my life,” said Zachary. “I just think that same love of the sport should be available to everyone, regardless of their physical or mental abilities.”

Stack, an Orland Park resident and sophomore at Marist High School, is hoping that with the assistance of the entire community, his foundation will eventually be able to build the baseball field at the currently unutilized property adjacent to the Orland Park Department Administration Building along West Avenue.

“We hope that the women of the community will come out for a relaxing evening of pampering, shopping and wine while supporting this great cause,” said Tammy Stack. “We hope that everyone has a chance to come by to support Zack’s cause and have some fun at the same time!”

Admission to the event is free and guests are urged to bring a friend. The Orland Park Civic Center is located at 14750 Ravinia Ave. For more information about the efforts of the foundation and/or the February 1 event, visit OPBaseball4All or email opbaseball4all@gmail.com.
