Union Backs Libertarian Candidate in Effort to Beat Rauner

One union is doing all it can to help Libertarian candidate Chad Grimm draw votes away from Rauner.

Chad Grimm, the Libertarian candidate for governor, received a sizable donation earlier this month from a local chapter of the International Union of Operating Engineers.

While the generous contribution pales in comparison to checks Quinn and Rauner have been cashing as of late, the union’s president, Jim Sweeney, says a lot more help is on its way to Grimm’s campaign, and it involves more than just money, according to Capitol Fax’s Rich Miller.
