Vehicle Accident Sends Multiple Patients To The Hospital

On Saturday afternoon an accident involving high rates of speed caused injuries and severe damage to multiple vehicles.

ORLAND PARK, IL - Orland Fire Protection District and the Tinley Park Fire Department responded to the scene of a multiple vehicle accident Saturday afternoon. The accident was the result of 2 vehicles traveling at a high rate of speed, colliding with other vehicles.

The multi-vehicle crash happened at 159th and 80th Avenue involving 4 vehicles, with 1 vehicle fleeing the scene. Orland Fire Chief Michael Schofield reported that 4 ambulances were needed with 5 victims transported to local hospitals in stable condition. Another victim was transported to the trauma center at Christ Hospital, no update on the patient's condition was available at the time of reporting.

By 6pm the Orland Fire Protection District personnel turned over the scene to the Orland Police for further investigation.
