Youth Mental Health First Aid Training

Learn An Action Plan

A young person you know could be experiencing a mental health or substance abuse problem. Learn an action plan to help. Get trained in Youth Mental Health First Aid.

On Saturday, May 18, 2019, 8 – 5 p.m. Sertoma Centre, Inc. and NAMI South Suburbs of Chicago will offer a free training at Hope Covenant Church, 14401 West Avenue, Orland Park, Illinois 60484.

Participants will learn –

· Risk factors and warning signs of mental health challenges common among youth and adolescents

· A 5-step action plan to help youth and adolescents developing a mental health problem or in crisis

· Information for youth, adolescents and their families of local supports available in their community

Registration is required by May 13. Class size is limited to 35. Lunch will be provided and CEUs are available to specific licenses. All participants receive a 3-year certificate and a Mental Health First Aid manual.

This evidence based program is funded by the SAMHSA, the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
