Man Dead, Girl Wounded In Shooting After Party In Oswego Township: Sheriff
Deputies executing a search warrant at the home hours after learning of the girl's injuries found the 22-year-old man dead, police said.

OSWEGO TOWNSHIP, IL — A 22-year-old man was found dead at a home in Oswego Township, hours after the Kendall County Sheriff's Office was notified about a teen girl who had been shot earlier in the morning. Authorities said a potential person of interest is in custody, but no charges have been filed.
Investigators believe the shooting happened Sunday morning, after a Saturday night party at the home, police said in an update Monday night.
Around 12:25 p.m., officials said Chicago police notified the Kendall County Sheriff's Office of a 14-year-old girl who had suffered a gunshot wound to the leg. Investigators determined the girl had been struck by a bullet that morning at a home in the 0-99 block of Palomino Lane in Oswego Township, the sheriff's office said.

Officials say they believe the shooting involved partygoers, and happene between 8 and 10 a.m. Sunday at the home. The girl was treated and released from a Chicago-area hospital.
According to a news release, members of the Kendall County Sheriff's Office started an investigation and obtained a search warrant for the home on Palomino Lane. While executing the search warrant around 9:45 p.m. Sunday, deputies found the man dead inside the home.

The man's identity is being withheld pending notifcation of family, the sheriff's offfice said Monday night.
Prelimintary findings indicate the male suffered multiple gunshot wounds, but the official cause and manner of death remain pending further investigation and a forensic autopsy, the sheriff's office said.
A potential person of interest was in custody as of Monday morning, but no charges had been filed, according to the sheriff's office.
Detectives are looking to speak with anyone who may have been at the party or can provide information or video related to this incident. Anyone with information is asked to contact the sheriff's office at detectives@kendallcountyil.gov.

"This investigation remains in its early stages, and additional information will be released when available," the sheriff's office said in a news release. "At this time, the incident is not believed to be random, and this appears to be a targeted incident."
