12-Year-Old Montgomery Girl Dead After ATV Accident
Her father was also injured after the vehicle left the roadway, crashed into a tree and turned over.

A 12-year-old Montgomery girl was killed July 4 near Nokomis, Illinois after an ATV accident, according to a release from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.
Isabella S. Erickson was driving with her father, John A Erickson, 36, of Montgomery, when the 2006 Polaris Trail-Blazer 250 ATV left the roadway, traveled into a ditch, struck a tree and turned over. The father was a passenger on the vehicle. The incident occurred at around 6:50 p.m. on North 18th Avenue, about a mile east of East 26th Road southeast of Nokomis

Isabella was airlifted to St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, Illinois, where she was pronounced dead by the Sangamon County Coroner. Her father was also airlifted to St. John’s with injuries. It is unknown how severe his injuries are.
According to a friend of the family, who asked not to be named at this time, Isabella Erickson was a talented artist and a great kid.

“I know many kids are devastated by this news,” said the family friend. ”Her mom just asks for prayers at this time.”
Erickson attend Plank Junior High School in Oswego.
