KENDALL COUNTY, IL — The Kendall County Sheriff's Office issued a total of 176 tickets during its traffic safety campaign in July, officials announced.

During the enforcement, which lasted July 6-31, deputies aimed to remind drivers to slow down to save lives, officials said in a news release. The sheriff's office teamed up with other state and local enforcement agencies to conduct the campaign.

Deputies also made four drug-related arrests and apprehended one fugitive during the traffic safety campaign.

"We continue to urge residents and others traveling through our community to slow down and obey speed limits," Sheriff Dwight Baird said in a statement. "The choices you make behind the wheel could help save lives."

The campaign was paid for using federal traffic safety funds granted by the Illinois Department of Transportation.
