2 Motorcyclists Injured In Drunken Driving Crash: Oswego Cops

A 40-year-old Hoffman Estates man is facing charges as a result of the crash, Oswego police revealed.

OSWEGO, IL — A man and a 14-year-old child were injured Sunday afternoon as a result of a drunken crash, Oswego police said.

Officers were dispatched at 4:10 p.m. to the intersection of Chicago Road and Park Street after a Nissan Murano entered the intersection without yielding and collided with a motorcycle, according to a Monday news release.

The motorcycle, driven by a 26-year-old man with a 14-year-old in tow, was unable to stop and struck the Nissan, police said. Both riders sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to local hospitals for treatment.

The driver of the Nissan, Eric J. Ramirez Torres, who was uninjured, was arrested and charged with two felony counts of aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol. He was also cited for failure to yield the right-of-way at an intersection.

The 40-year-old Ramirez Torres, of Hoffman Estates, was taken to the Kendall County jail to await a detention hearing Monday.
