6 Oswego Students Earn Commended Student Status

The status is part of the 2016 National Merit Scholarship Program.

OSWEGO, IL — Four Oswego East High School (OEHS) and two Oswego High School (OHS) students have earned the commended student status in the 2016 National Merit Scholarship Program.

Commended students from OEHS include Akshata Gunda, Ibtesam Kamal, Prerana Mitta, and Patrick Ubelhor. Victor Guerra and Hanna Loeffelholz are the OHS commended students.

About 34,000 commended students throughout the nation are being recognized for their exceptional academic promise. These students placed among the top 5 percent of more than 1.5 million students who entered the 2016 competition by taking the 2014 preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT).
