7 Ways To Make The Most Of Summer Before Oswego School Year Starts

OSWEGO, IL — School starts soon in Oswego, leaving little time to check off items from the summer bucket list.

Several events are coming up before Oswego students head back to class Aug. 20.

Here are some ways to make the most of the final stretch of summer:

• Attend the Goals for Gianna 3v3 Soccer Classic Aug. 8 at the Arranmore Farm and Polo Club. The event is held annually in remembrance of Gianna Lamb, a 12-year-old girl from Plainfield who died in January 2024 after she was hit by a car.
• Enjoy live music at the annual Vet Fest at Venue 1012, featuring headliner 7th Heaven, a flyover and fireworks.
• Shop the Oswegoland Park District-hosted Kid's Maker Market and Garage Sale Aug. 9 at 19 Main St. in downtown Oswego.
• Meet friends and peruse the Oswego Country Market Sundays through September in downtown Oswego.
• Go back in time with the Happy Together Tour concert Aug. 9 at Paramount Theatre in Aurora, bringing together some of the biggest and best music from the '60s and '70s.
• See The Beach Boys perform live Aug. 14 at Aurora's newly opened RiverEdge Park.
• Pick sunflowers at Keller's Farmstand beginning Aug. 20.
