Accused Oswego Sex Offender Reportedly Had Sexual Relations with Girl

A 42-year-old Oswego man has been charged with felony aggravated criminal sexual abuse and child pornography after he allegedly had a sexual relationship with a 16-year-old Schaumburg girl.

Andrew Payne, 42, of the 1300 block of Light Road, allegedly met the girl over the social media app Whisper, according to a report from the Chicago Tribune.

“The two chatted frequently for several weeks, had their first face-to-face meeting in February and that Payne committed sex acts with the girl on at least three occasions, at least once in Schaumburg,” the article said.

According to the Daily Herald, a Cook County prosecutor said in court Wednesday that the girl told Payne she was 17 and he told her he was 30.

“During their online conversations, the prosecutor said, the girl sent Payne nude photos of herself that were later recovered on his phone,” the article said.

Payne’s bail has been set at $150,000.
