OSWEGO, IL — An Oswego man is facing charges after police say he discharged a firearm in a residential neighborhood Tuesday evening.
Oswego police were dispatched at 6:39 p.m. Tuesday to the 200 block of Northampton Drive for a report of an armed, threatening person. Information indicated a firearm may have been discharged, police said in an alert.
Officers quickly located the suspect, identified as the 47-year-old Eric Bonnes, holding a gun. Police allege the man fired the gun into the air as others were present in the area.
Bonnes did not have a valid Firearm Owners Identification card, police said. He was taken into custody without incident and charged with the following:
The incident remains under investigation. Bonnes was taken to the Kendall County jail to await a pre-trial detention hearing Wednesday.
