OSWEGO, IL — Two people were hospitalized Wednesday after a collision at the intersection of Douglas and Fernwood roads, Oswego police said.
A 72-year-old Montgomery woman cut off a Subaru WRX, driven by a 34-year-old Aurora man, while turning left onto Fernwood Road from Douglas Road, officials said in the Thursday blotter. The man, who had been headed north on Douglas Road, hit the woman's Chevrolet Trailblazer as a result.
Officers were called to the intersection at about 12:42 p.m.
The Montgomery woman and a 23-year-old Aurora woman, who was a passenger in the Aurora man's car, were both taken to Rush Copley Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries, police spokesperson Cathy Nevara told Patch.
The woman was issued two citations for failure to yield the right of way and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
