OSWEGO, IL — The woman behind the wheel of the car that caused a chain-reaction crash Tuesday night on Route 34 and Kendall Point Drive was driving under the influence, Oswego police said.
A Kia, driven by a 31-year-old Shorewood woman, rear-ended a Toyota, driven by a 65-year-old Aurora man, at about 8:53 p.m., according to Wednesday's police blotter. The impact caused the Toyota to slam into a Hyundai, driven by a 47-year-old Aurora woman.
It's unclear what caused the Shorewood woman to crash. Police did not respond to Patch's request for comment at the time of publication.
The driver of the Kia was arrested and charged with driving under the influence. She was booked at the Oswego Police Department and released with a notice to appear in court.
