OSWEGO, IL — Hell's BBQ will close its doors at the end of July after four years on Station Drive, the owner announced Tuesday.
Lovers of brisket and barbecue pork have until July 26 to eat it in person at Hell's BBQ, 1019 Station Drive.
"This is not an easy announcement to make," owner Keith Richards and his team wrote in a letter on Facebook. "This restaurant has been so much more than a building—it has been a place where families gathered, friendships were made, milestones were celebrated, and countless memories were created over amazing barbecue."
Richards founded the establishment as a catering business in 2014 before he opened the brick-and-mortar restaurant in 2022.
"Thank you to every customer who waited in line, shared our posts, recommended us to friends and family, ordered catering, stopped by the food truck, voted for us in the Best of the Fox awards, and believed in our dream," the letter read. "Your support has allowed a small family-owned business to grow into something we could have only imagined."
Although the restaurant, adjacent to Venue 1012, will be shuttering, the barbecue joint will continue operating its food truck and offering catering services "without interruption." The food truck's new operating location will be announced in the coming weeks, according to the post.
Those interested in catering can fill out an inquiry form on the restaurant website.
"This isn't the end of Hell’s BBQ—it’s the beginning of an exciting new chapter," the letter read.
Hell's BBQ is open from 4-8 p.m. Friday, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, and from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday.
