OSWEGO, IL — The Oswego Police Department is hosting its annual National Night Out event Aug. 4 at Prairie Point Park.
The nationwide campaign, which occurs annually on the first Tuesday of August, brings together communities with the goal of strengthening relationships between residents, public safety personnel and city leaders.
The Batavia event will run from 5-8 p.m. and feature:
Members of the Oswego Village Board will also participate in National Night Out. At the "Board on Your Block" event, residents can meet trustees and ask questions.
"National Night Out is about building relationships," Chief Jason Bastin said in a statement. "When neighbors know one another and feel connected to their local police officers, first responders, and community partners, it strengthens our entire community. We look forward to spending the evening with our residents."
