KENDALL COUNTY, IL — Multiple trees have fallen after a severe storm swept through Kendall County Tuesday morning, according to the sheriff's office.
Deputies are responding to the storm-related hazards, including downed power lines, as of about 11 a.m., officials wrote in a post on Facebook.
"Please use caution while traveling and do not drive around barricades or attempt to pass through areas blocked by downed trees or power lines," the Kendall County Sheriff's Office said.
Kendall County was under a tornado watch until 11 a.m. as a fast-moving cluster of severe storms passed through the area, Patch reported.
The area remains under a severe storm watch until 2 p.m. Tuesday. The National Weather Service said the storms could bring damaging wind gusts as high as 80 mph in addition to torrential downpours, which cause flash flooding of roads, low-lying areas, fields and basements.
