OSWEGO, IL — Hell's BBQ is reversing its decision from earlier this summer to shutter its doors. Owners announced Sunday the restaurant will instead open in the space formerly occupied by Danelli's Italian Restaurant.
The barbecue joint plans to move to 228 E. Washington St. in downtown Oswego, though an opening date has not yet been announced.
"We can't wait to show you what we have in store," owner Keith Richards wrote on Facebook. "The next chapter will bring the smoke, the flavor, and the heart you've come to know from Hell's BBQ."

Hell's BBQ announced on social media earlier this summer that it would close its brick-and-mortar restaurant at 1019 Station Drive by the end of July. Richards said at the time he intended to continue Hell's BBQ's food truck and catering services.
Richards founded the establishment as a catering business in 2014 before he opened the brick-and-mortar restaurant in 2022.
Until the restaurant opens in downtown Oswego, the Hell's BBQ food truck has been posting up at 111 S. Lake St. in Montgomery. Richards shares hours and updates for the truck on Facebook.
