• Oswego hires interim public works director (shawlocal.com) — Oswego village leaders have appointed veteran administrator Phil Modaff as interim public works director, filling the role as current director Curt Cassidy departs Sept. 18. Cassidy highlighted major wins for Oswego, including federal funding for the Wolfs Crossing–Douglas Road roundabout and work on the Lake Michigan water project, before returning to Texas. Residents can expect continuity as Modaff steps in later this month.
• Two-bedroom house sells in Oswego for $360,000 (shawlocal.com) — A two-bedroom, three-bath home at 133 River Mist Drive in Oswego recently sold for $360,000, offering a snapshot of current neighborhood prices. Nearby River Mist properties have also closed between $375,000 and $420,000, mostly for three-bedroom homes. If you're watching Oswego's housing market, these sales hint at strong demand and rising values.
• Alsip-Hazelgreen-Oaklawn School District 126 reported 98.9% of teacher attendance during 2024-25 (southcooknews.com) — New state data shows Alsip-Hazelgreen-Oaklawn's teacher attendance at 98.9%, and it also highlights Oswego Community Unit School District 308 with an impressive 99.9% teacher attendance rate.
