Oswego weighs interim financing as Lake Michigan loan remains delayed (wspynews.com) — Oswego leaders are reworking how to pay for the village's future Lake Michigan water connection as a key federal WIFIA loan remains delayed and interest rates climb. Officials are exploring three- to five-year interim financing while keeping the 2028 target for Lake Michigan water, aiming to balance rising costs with long-term repayment options without changing the project timeline yet.
3. KCHD Promotes Substance Use Prevention and Safe Medication Disposal Throughout October (wspynews.com) — Oswego residents can safely dispose of unused medications anytime at the Oswego Police Department's year-round drop box, or join a countywide drive-through drop-off in Yorkville on October 24. Kendall County Health Department is also urging families to talk with kids about substance use and offers local education, early intervention, and mental health and substance use support services.
4. Oswego Sweeps Oswego East in Crosstown Classic - Tuesday's Area High School Varsity Athletics Recap (wspynews.com) — Oswego High School athletes had a big night, with the Panthers sweeping Oswego East in the Crosstown Classic volleyball match and several Oswego and Oswego East teams in action across soccer and tennis. Local standouts on both sides contributed kills, digs, and key goals, while neighboring schools like Yorkville and Parkview Christian also logged strong wins in regional competition.
