OSWEGO, IL — Oswego's two high schools will once again go head-to-head Friday in the 22nd annual Crosstown Challenge football game.
The Oswego East Wolves and Oswego Panthers will take to Oswego East High School's field, supported by students, staff, alumni, families and the community, who will be decked out in school spirit.
Sophomores will kick off the Crosstown Challenge at 4:30 p.m., and the varsity game will begin at 7 p.m.
Admission to the game has sold out in previous years, so registration is encouraged. Tickets cost $5 for all ages and can be purchased online beginning Wednesday. Students, staff and the families of students participating in the game were given advanced access to tickets.
If any tickets are available on game day, they will still only be sold through GoFan — the ticket provider — but a card reader will be available at the gate.
A shuttle bus will run from the stadium entrance of Oswego High School to the junior varsity soccer field parking lot at Oswego East High School. Rides will begin at 4 p.m. and continue until after the end of the varsity game. Shuttles will run every 20 minutes throughout the game, with added rounds at the start and end of each game.
After the varsity game, travel routes will be restricted:
Oswego police and community service officers will be stationed at the intersections most affected by the traffic. Those attending the event are encouraged to carpool to alleviate congestion.
