Community Corner

Disability Resource Center Opening Soon

In 2004, when fraternal twins Kyle and Ryan were born, their parents, Jeff and Rebecca Christiansen, had no idea Ryan would be born with Down syndrome. They were thrust into a world of Down syndrome, a world which left them experiencing a feeling of being overwhelmed with emotions, worries and questions. They needed resources; and they needed hope. They wanted to feel a part of a larger, accepting community.

In April of 2007, they founded Celebrate Differences as a means to help so many other families of children with disabilities. Today, Celebrate Differences offers a place where children, adults and families feel welcome and safe. A place where they are able to utilize their gifts and celebrate their uniqueness; where they can truly be themselves.
