Applications Open For Student To Join D308 Board Of Education
The representatives — one from each high school — will serve as a link between the Board and the student body.
OSWEGO, IL — Applications are now open for students wanting to join the Oswego Community Unit School District 308 Board of Education for the 2026-27 school year.
Students play a vital role on the Board, the district said. The representatives will serve as a direct connection between students and district leadership, ensuring their peers' perspectives and experiences will be heard to help guide the Board's decision-making, according to a news release.
A student from each Oswego High School and Oswego East High School will be selected to join the Board. The position is an advisory, non-voting one.

Interested candidates must be enrolled as a full-time student in their junior or senior years for the 2026-27 school year. They also have to have good academic standing and be able to meet the state and school guidelines for extracurricular participation, the district said.
The deadline to apply is May 22. The term will last from August to June.
